So which genius thought it would be a good idea for us to check our speed at the same time we should be focussed on traffic lights changing and cars stopping in front of us.

Probably the same genius that thought it would be a good idea to put speed cameras in school zones so we are checking our speedos again instead of looking out for the kids.

Don't get me wrong. We should always be obeying the speed limit but in identified hazardous situations (school zones, intersections, pedestrian crossings, etc) our total focus and concentration should be on the road environment and any potential hazards, not looking away from the road to check the speedo.

With the changes to the situations where cameras are placed and the change to the low end demerits I can see NSW going the way of the ridiculous Victorian zero tolerance speed limits.

Hullo,
I took the advice of Phil Short, and fitted an Aguar water booster unit to my 2007
LPG Ford Falcon. My fuel consumption was approximately 20% better, but the increase in power was the thing that surprised me. For under $200 this thing will pay for itself in no time and it is so easy to fit and use.
Like Phil said, to gain the best performance it must be topped up regularly, but as long as it keeps doing whatever it's doing, I don't mind the small inconvenience.
One final note, I ordered my unit over the phone and not via their aguarboost.webs.com website. It arrived within a week and was working the next day.

I have a scenario for your opinion. This almost happened to me, but didn't. I'd be interested to know what an insurance companys take would be on this scenario.

4 way roundabout with one lane. exits/entry at 12, 3 6 and 9 oclock.

If carA enters from 6 oclock without indicating
carB is approaching from 12o'clock after carA is already in roundabout.
Who is at fault if carB collects carA's side, if carB is actually exiting from the 3oclock, exit but didn't indicate.

Is CarB still at fault because they didn’t stop and hit carA on its side. or is carA to blame because it didn’t indicate and CarB should therefore think it can drive straight through without stopping.

Is this rollout legal? When fixed speed cameras were introduced in NSW if I remeber correctly the legislation was opposed by the NRMA and blocked in the Legislative Council until a compromise was reached requiring BY LAW the quite detailed signage now in use. If I recall the legislation correctly, the signage we are all used to is not optional, but a legal requirement.

NRMA. Where do you stand on this issue? Why is there not a identiacl signage requirment for these cameras to others?

Red Light Camera Penality Notice

I travel Parramatta Rd every day to work. I was issued a Red Light Penality Notice 6 Weeks after the offence. I reviewed the images from Web site and the following is noted.

First Image shows my vehicle rear wheels crossing the white line entering the intersection barking as on the exit side I was preparting to stop as there was only one Car Lengths vacant on the exit side. I had crossed the Stop line prior to the Predestrian marked zone at the interection being amber. My speed was slow as Vehicles where stopped ahead leaving one space beyound exit line of the intersection.

I maintain I had entered the intersection and beleive excessive braking was unsafe. Light turned red as after my front wheels entered the intersection. I continued crossing the intersection, Sensor was triggered by my rear wheels.

Second image shows my vehicle approx 1.5 Metres from Exit Line of the intersection braking as I proceeded to stop behine, stationary vehicles in my lane ahead. Image shows second vehicle stopped in the lane next to mine auable to move forward and exit the intersection.

I entered the Intersection under normal driving condition as the lights turned amber I was braking as vehicles ahead had stopped leaving about one vehicle length for my vehicle to stop on the exit side.

I am confused reading the road rules in RTA Handbook " Yellow ( Amber ) means stop, you may enter the intersection if you are so close that sudden braking may cause an accident."

Speed limit is 60KM/H and Yellow is set at four seconds, then Red is displayed and at this point the sensor activates Camera to take images if vehicle cross over the Road Sensor. Is this sensor located prior to Stop Line before the Pedestrian Crossing Zone or at the intersection entry. My vehicle had crossed the stop line, passed through the Marked Pedestrian Zone and my front wheels and majority of my vehicle length had entered the intersection and only my rear wheels are behind entry line of the intersection and about to exit the pedestrian marked zone.

I have been driving for 11 Years to work along Parramatta RD. I fully agree with Red Light Cameras. Image number one should clearly show vehicle behind the Stop Line then second image shows vehicle entering the intersection.

I support the propsal. Drivers have adequate warning to slowdown/stop when lights amber. I do have an issue with not enough police on the road to monitor bad driving. I frequently travel F3 & Hume highway at speed limit (when weather allows)& am the usually left way behind by majority of motorists. Also, what has happened to the 100k restriction on semis etc?
Drivers have to learn to drive to road conditions & be alert to changeing conditions. It is not that hard to do!!!. Have no issues with speed cameras & think covert ones an excellent idea. Many drivers slow for the camera then resume their speeding. The revenue can then go towards road maintenance & more traffic police Don't think it is a Labour/Liberal issue

The attitude of the RTA/NSW Labor government is that "Speed is the ONLY factor involved in road deaths" while driver education and behaviour is totally ignored. That's why they're putting more and more revenue cameras everywhere and there are no police on the roads booking motorists for driving badly. I won't be voting for NSW Labor again, that's for sure.

I used it in my hyundia getz and it cost me 500 dollars to get repaired . THE problem is that it rusted my fuel tank because it is hydoscopic that means it attracks water. mind you i was putting it in my tank by mistake.i will never use it .I WILL PAY A LITTLE EXTRA AND YOU get better fuel mileage.
